# Revision

> One write that changed a resource's fields: who made it, how and why

Every write that changes a worker's number, original start date, entity or
workspace attributes, or a record's attributes, records one revision. Its
[entries](https://docs.plane.com/reference/revision-entries/object.md) hold each changed field's old
and new value. A write that changes nothing records no revision. The changed
resource's `revision` names its latest.

A revision is visible to you when you can read at least one of its entries.

### Attributes

**id** `string`

Unique identifier for the revision, e.g. `rv_8Hd2K`.

**object** `string`

Always `revision`.

**workspace** `string`

The workspace the revision belongs to.

**status** `string`

`applied` once its values are written. `pending` and `cancelled` are
reserved for changes that wait for approval.

**cancelled\_reason** `string | null`

Why a cancelled revision ended: `withdrawn`, `denied` or `invalid`. Null
unless it was cancelled.

**reason** `string | null`

Why the change was made, as sent in the write's `revision.reason`.

**actor** `string | null`

The member who made the change. Null when Plane made it.
