# Project

A `Project` is used to represent a process on Plane that involces more than one step, and often more than one person to complete.
Each onboarding or offboarding is represented as a `Project`.

Projects can be further subdivided into [Checklists](/reference/checklists/object) and [Tasks](/reference/tasks/object).
